Born into a military family in Austin, Texas, Ralph moved to the Wichita Falls area in 4th grade. After graduating from high school, he followed his father's lead and joined the Marine Corps where he was stationed in Southern California. Upon discharge from the military, he decided to pursue a career in art. Ralph moved back to Texas and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Midwestern State University in painting and sculpture in 1981. After graduation, he pursued a career in advertising, working as a commercial artist and art director.
Ralph now makes his living in art. Well known as a mural specialist, his paintings brighten the daily grind at Wichita Falls ISD schools and a number of area churches, as well as buildings throughout the area. He also instructs portrait and figure painting and drawing, and is a member of the Wichita Falls Art Association. Ralph has won a number of awards at area juried shows and events, including those at The Kemp Center for the Arts.
