Cynthia Westbrook - March 13th Meeting Presentation

Cynthia Westbrook grew up in South Texas. Most of her early work was in pen & ink, and featured the rough brush country that surrounded her.  She graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1982 from Texas A&M and moved to North Texas in 1992, opening a veterinary clinic in Gainesville.  Art continued to be an integral part of her life, although she began to paint in acrylics and oils and began working in wire sculpture.  Many of her subjects are animals.  Twice her paintings have been featured on the cover of the American Veterinary Medical Association's journal.

Cynthia has won awards in North Texas and Oklahoma in several regional shows, recently winning Best of Show in the Small Town America Art Show in Bowie.  Her work has been shown in a special collection at Oxide Gallery in Denton, and at various other local venues.  She is a member of the Gainesville Area Visual Artists Association.  For more information, see her website:  www.cynthiawestbrook.com
