Stan Briney

Growing up in a small mid-western town, Stan Briney displayed a talent for drawing at a very early age.
His drawings soon became prized possessions of his teachers and other adults who saw them.  While in high school he received frequent requests for application of his talent in commercial advertising, book illustrations, and other commercial endeavors.  The money he received was put away for college.

After receiving both a Bachelors and Masters degree from the State University of Iowa, medical school followed, which eventually led to a distinguished professional medical career with a specialty in Diagnostic Radiology.  During his professional career he was involved with both clinical practice and academic medicine.  Since his retirement from medicine in 1995, he has devoted his full time and love to his second professional career as an artist.

Remaining totally self-taught, his bronze sculptures, pencil and pen & ink drawings can be found in schools, homes, offices and private art collections across the United States, coast-to-coast, and abroad.  He has his studio and a small private gallery for visitors at his ranch country home in north central Texas outside of Bowie.  He is a member and award-winning artist in the Texas Society of Sculptors, and the National Sculptor Society.  His work can be seen at The Art Gallery in Saint Jo, Texas.
