Pat Peery

Pat remembers drawing crayola horses as a very young child, encouraged by her artistic mother.  Largely self-taught, Pat took some art classes in college, at one time dreaming of becoming an architect.  However, family and earning a living intervened for many years and her artistic endeavors faded until the late 1990's, when a close friend motivated her to enroll in a workshop conducted by James Spurlock.  That encounter sparked a passionate interest in learning more.  Since then, Pat has consulted many other artists, taken workshops and art classes at NCTC in Gainesville, and amassed an ever-expanding collection of books about art.  Pat never plans to stop learning.

Pat enjoys painting in oils and in drawing with graphite and charcoal.
She particularly enjoys creating portraits of animals and children, as she is fascinated with trying to capture the personality and the soul within their eyes.
