J.R. (Rusty) Cook

J.R. grew up in the high panhandle plains of Texas, growing to love the iconic images of the area landscape.  After moving to Jack County, J.R. began painting the rolling hills and oak forests of the Cross Timbers region.  Largely self-taught, J.R. has taken instruction from Clair Daly of Olney, Texas, as well as Kaye Franklin in Graham.  His work has highly placed in local juried art shows, even capturing First Place in the "Light on the Land" Open Wet Paint Invitational Show.  J.R. has been a member of the CTAA since 2013, and his work can be seen on his website: www.jrcookartist.com.
