Vonnie Kohn

Vonnie Kohn is the daughter of a saddle-maker in the historic stockyards of Fort Worth.  She was accustomed early on with the smell of leather, jingling spurs and Stetson hats.  This exposure inspired in her a love for painting the American West, and her Native heritage also contributed to her portrayals of contemporary Native American Life.  Vonnie is an internationally recognized-artist, holding a BFA in Fine Art and Studio Painting.  She is also a printmaker, sculptor in bronze casting, and art instructor.  She has received numerous awards for her work, including Southwest Art Magazine, Arte de Los Brazos, Doss Heritage & Culture Center, the BFAC, the Heard Natural Science Museum of Natural History, the Parker County News, Trail of Tears Art Show, and the All Indian Art Show.

Vonnie's work can be seen at the FIrehouse Art Gallery in Weatherford, her studio in Springtown, and in her website:  www.vonniekohn.com.  She can be reached via email at vkohnartist@aol.com.
